Established in 2009, Ecossentials is a community-focused eco market serving the qathet Regional District. For many years, we’ve been a place where thoughtful choices, local connection, and everyday sustainability come together.

Our bulk foods, herbs, and spices are always certified organic and carefully sourced. We take great care in choosing suppliers who align with our values around quality, ethics, and environmental responsibility. Bulk is at the heart of what we do, and we believe organic should be the standard, not the exception.

Alongside our bulk offerings, we thoughtfully stock non-toxic home goods chosen for what they don’t contain as much as what they do. We focus on products that are free from harmful ingredients and designed to be safer for your home, your body, and the environment.

Our clothing selection highlights small and sustainable brands that use responsible production methods and materials that are better for both people and the planet. These are pieces made with intention, care, and longevity in mind.

Reducing packaging waste is central to how we operate. Customers are welcome to bring their own clean jars, purchase a reusable jar in-store, or use one from our community jar bins, which are stocked with sanitized, donated jars for anyone who forgot a container. In store, you simply tare, fill, label, weigh, and pay, a hands-on, transparent way to shop that keeps waste to a minimum and choice in your hands.

Ecossentials exists to support a slower, more intentional way of living, built around community, care, and small daily actions that add up.

You can have a bite to eat, grab your bulk food and an ice cream all in one go! It makes for the perfect locally sourced market for our community.  

Our Market is located right on the corner of Marine Ave and Alberni Street, in the heart of Powell Rivers finest commercial center.
